COMMUNITEASE
Communitease is Grippy Sock’s quarterly mutual aid show for queer BIPOC folk in the nightlife commuity. Each season we select a recipient from our application pool and throw a fundraiser for them. Performers donate acts for the show and all procceeds raised go directly to the recipient. Previous shows have been for housing security, medical bills, and post-partum care.
Next COMMUNITEASE: Artina Darkly
Grippy Sock’s aid form is always open and recipients are chosen on a rolling basis. To qualify you must be a queer BIPOC individual working in the NYC nightlife community.
Do you or someone you know need a fundraiser?
Want to donate an act?
Any performer can donate an act to a show. Once the next season’s recipient is announced, act applications open for two weeks. Be sure to follow us on IG @grippysockburlesque to stay up to date on recipient announcements.
At the end of each show, we add up all cash and digital donations from the audience and give them directly to the recipient. In an effort to increase the amount of funds our recipients walk away with, Grippy Sock is seeking donors to match the total audience donation. Email us at grippysockproductions.com for more info on how to get involved.
